Missions Ministry
The Great Commission
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Matthew 28:19
The Three Facets of Missions

When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God. And when they had appointed elders for them in every church, with prayer and fasting they committed them to the Lord in whom they had believed. Acts 14:21-23
The three facets of missions are preaching of the Gospel, making Disciples, and planting churches.

Now there were in the church at Antioch prophets and teachers, Barnabas, Simeon who was called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a lifelong friend of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.” Then after fasting and praying they laid their hands on them and sent them off. Acts 13:1-3

As people who have placed our hope and faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, we are ALL missionaries. Our Light must shine to all those around us. We are all commanded to bring the Gospel to the world.

As a church, Faith Bible encourages those who have a specific burden to be sent. We want to pray for, encourage, and financially support those who are called to either full or short-term mission activity. These activities are generally in one or more of: evangelism, disciple making, church planting and their associated administrative support activities.

Short-term mission activity is focused to be in support of our existing supported missionaries around the world but includes local missions. There are also short-term mission opportunities through the various sending agencies we support. Short-term missionary activity outside these guidelines are considered on a case-by-case basis.
Missions We Support
These are the mission sending agencies currently supported by Faith Bible Church.

Community Outreach
Community outreach is a way to minister to the community by meeting physical and emotional needs while sharing the love of Christ with them. By partnering with local help organizations whose goal is outreach, we can work together to fulfill the great commission.
Care Net Pregnancy Center of Southern Maryland provides practical help, accurate information, and lasting hope to women and families facing unplanned pregnancies and related issues. Care Net believes that each individual is a unique creation of God and desires to see healthy babies born to mothers who are themselves healthy and better prepared to provide a loving, safe home or make an adoption plan for their babies. They offer a wide range of free services and depend on volunteers to help meet the needs of their clients. If you feel passionate about the sanctity of human life, free training is available to anyone interested in being part of the Care Net team as a client advocate.
Child Evangelism Fellowship, also known as CEF, is a Bible-centered worldwide organization composed of born-again believers whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, to disciple them in the Word of God, and to establish them in a local Bible-believing church for Christian living. CEF has many different ministries for children,
but the primary ones are the Good News Club and the 5-Day Club.
The Good News Club and 5-Day Clubs take place in neighborhood settings such as homes, backyards, schools, and community centers. These high-powered, one-hour programs are designed to bring the Gospel of Christ to children on their level in their environment.
God is blessing CEF in Southern Maryland and Good New Clubs currently meet in the following public schools:
Calvert County - Appeal and Dowell Elementary
St. Mary’s County - Carver, Green Holly, Leonardtown, Lexington Park, and Park Hall Elementary

If you are burdened for the children in your community, there are many opportunities to become involved in this ministry. CEF provides classes to train their workers and other Christians who want to evangelize to children.

Christmas in the City
We partner with other churches each Christmas to bring holiday blessings and share the love of Christ to people in Washington, D.C. who are experiencing the uncertainty of homelessness and poverty. On Christmas Eve morning, volunteers travel to Washington D.C.’s Franklin Square Park and minister to the homeless by handing out baked goods, hot soup, donations of winter clothing, water, non-perishable food, and $10 McDonald’s gift cards to the homeless. There are opportunities to serve on the evangelism team, music team, in the soup kitchen, and setting up/tearing down.
